The City of Sealy says fences over 7 feet need a building permit through Planning and Community Development, at 405 Main St, phone 979-885-1669. The site does not state a rule for lower fences. Contractors must complete a registration with the Planning Department before work. The city uses the 2018 International Building Codes.
Sealy is in Austin County. It is not the county seat; Bellville is.

About this area
Sealy was founded in 1879 when the Gulf, Colorado and Santa Fe Railway arrived and is best known for the Sealy mattress company, which started in 1881. It is a small Austin County town of about 6,800 on I-10, and locals gather each year for events such as Sealybration and the Austin County Fair and Rodeo.
